KamXcel is a diversified energy, machinery, and logistics company with deep roots in Sierra Leone’s entrepreneurial landscape. What began during the nation's most difficult period has evolved into a resilient, multi-sector enterprise serving communities, businesses, and industries nationwide.
With over 50 employees, a rapidly growing footprint, and annual revenues exceeding le11,000,000 ($500,000), KamXcel continues to expand its services while delivering reliability, efficiency, and long-term value to partners and clients nationwide. The company was formerly known as Star Oil Enterprise before its brand transformation in 2020 to reflect a broader vision for growth.
Vision
To be Sierra Leone’s leading integrated provider of energy, machinery, and industrial services—powering businesses, communities, and national development.
Mission
To deliver reliable, affordable, and efficient services that support economic growth and build long-term trust.
Our Story
KamXcel’s story reflects determination, adaptability, and commitment to service, even in the face of instability.
1994—Founding Amid Conflict
The business was established as Star Oil Enterprise in Kono during the Sierra Leone civil war. Despite insecurity and a collapsing market, the company began by importing essential goods from Guinea and selling them locally to support communities where many businesses had closed.
1997-1999—Forced Relocation & Survival
When rebel attacks intensified, the business relocated to Magburaka, only to face renewed destruction in 1998. All assets were looted, forcing the team to flee to Freetown. Operations were halted throughout 1999 as the company focused on protecting employees and securing minimal capital.
2000 - 2002—Rebuilding From Zero
To remain active, the company transported fuel via sea routes from Freetown to towns like Bo and Shenge. Although unsustainable in the long term, these efforts kept the business afloat. After the war officially ended in 2002, operations were relaunched in Magburaka, where gradual recovery began.
2016 - 2020—Expansion Across Sierra Leone
Years of strategic growth led to new branches in Masingbi (2016), Rokel (2019), and additional locations in Bumbuna, Pampana Bridge, Masumbiri, Makon, and other regions across the Northern, Eastern, and Western provinces.
2020—National Recognition
KamXcel was ranked 3rd nationwide by National Petroleum (NP), one of the country’s largest petroleum importers, a major milestone reflecting operational discipline and market trust.
